Admissions
Thank you for your interest in joining our HCAS Lion Pride! The majority of our students are Taiwanese dual citizens in our small yet thriving international community that focuses on educating the whole child. We have a strong foundation, are fully ACS WASC accredited, and are committed to continuous improvement!
Through the admissions process, we will keep in mind that each case is different and analyze all the information submitted, as well as student re-enrollment and space availability. We will communicate in a timely manner as we determine acceptance decisions. No matter if accepted or not, each family will be treated with compassion and care. Come join us!
Entry Times
We give campus tours and take applications year-round. Generally, there are times when it is a smoother transition for certain levels to join HCAS, but we recognize that individual circumstances may require being admitted outside of those times.
- ● Kindergarten 2 (typically 4 year olds) : rolling enrollment
- ● Kindergarten 3 (typically 5 year olds) : Preferred by 01 October or at the start of Semester 2, but rolling enrollment as necessary.
- ● Grades 1-8 : Preferred by 01 October or at the start of Semester 2, but rolling enrollment as necessary.
- ● Grades 9-12 : Preferred by the end of the first week of school or at the start of Semester 2, but rolling enrollment as necessary.
Admissions Process
Since the applications are processed in the order that they are received, parents are encouraged to submit an online application early. When considering the admission criteria, please remember that we are looking for families who will best fit into our community and model our 7 Cs on and off campus.

- ♦ Documents Submission
- Official report cards* (or transcript) from previous school(s)
- If applying to grades 1-4, provide the academic record for the previous year and the current year.
- If applying to grades 5-8, provide the academic record for the previous two years and the current year.
- If applying to grade 9, provide the academic record for the previous three years and the current year.
- If applying to grades 10-12, provide the academic record for the previous three years and the current year. The documents must show the credit earned for each course, or an explanation must accompany the documents detailing how many times per week each course occurred and how long each class period lasts.

Letters of recommendation – One is required for those applying to grades 1-8, and three are required for those applying to grades 9-12 (two of which need to be from previous English and mathematics teachers). Those completing the recommendation must send it directly to <
- Copy of the student’s passport – If Taiwanese, this must be a second passport (e.g., US, Canada, etc.)
- ♦ Admissions Test
- The Admissions Department will contact you to schedule the admissions test(s). The appointment will be confirmed once the test fee has been paid (You can also make cash payments at the Parents Services Desk.).
- K3 – 2,000 NTD
- Grades 1-3 – 3,000 NTD
- Grades 4-12 – 5,000 NTD
- ♦ Internal Review of Application, Documents, and Admissions Test Results
- During this stage a member of staff in the Admissions Department might contact the family for additional information and clarification. Timely responses are needed to move the review forward.
- ♦ Admissions Result and Feedback to Parents
- If admitted, the family will receive a date to collect the new student folder. Once all enrollment documents are completed and returned, a tuition pay slip will be issued with a due date. Once payment is made, the Admissions Department will confirm with all internal teams, and then a start date will be issued to the family. The onboarding date will be the working day before the start date.
*All academic records must be submitted in English.
